I'd be interested in the Paris fares if they throw in a few French language lessons & a designer jacket for that cooler time of year..

If I had to pick 1 LCC and 1 full service carrier not to fly long-haul Y with.......

what's wrong with Air France Y? The only thing I did not like was the silly fix-shell/bottom slide-forward type of seats but the rest of the product is quite good

I think the concern was more about AF than the class of travel .....

Meaning not just that one incident. AF does have a fairly poor safety record over an extended period of time - 89 hull losses since 1945 and 10 since 1979 (and not counting one in 1994 when an aircraft was destroyed while it was being towed at CDG).

I think there's quite a few people here who would not fly on an AF aircraft (and I'm one of them!)

I guess there's always Lion air... But it's a close run thing!

I was tempted to take a picture of a Lion Air plane at the aerobridge next to mine in KUL on Sunday morning, thought it might be a rare sight!

There wasn't one in the mud by the runway? I thought you'd be more likely to spot one there?

You can also add me to that list

There does seem to be a recurring issue with AF : plan de décrochage

I'm pretty sure you will find a series of similar incidents with all major carriers, it's just that the French are more transparent about it.

Your kidding surely, one thing they are not known for is transparency, and its very unlikely for any airline to have more than one occurrence where an aircraft approached a stall, let alone the sequence detailed above in such a short timeframe. Its one of the first things taught when you learn to fly, recognition and recovery of a stall.
