Gold status - Room upgrade

I am currently a Accor plus silver member and have booked the Sofitel in Darling Harbour (superior room) at the end of the year for my free night (plus booked an extra night). I am expecting to get gold status before then and wondering if they will credit me with the room upgrade even if I booked it whilst on silver status.

Your status at the time of booking won't matter - your status on the day of arrival will.

I wouldn't get your hopes up for a substantial upgrade as a Gold. You might get one category. A suite is unlikely but not unheard of. You may also get nothing.

Don't hold your breath for an upgrade, I have been Gold for several years and don't think I've ever had an upgrade, have been located on a high floor but that's the extent of it.

As a platinum there last month I received a one category upgrade from a base room. Ie, different view.
