Good Australian wines<$30

We are getting family and friends visiting from Spain and Canada over the next few months and thought it be nice to get them to sample some good Australian wine while staying with us. The idea is to sample a diffrent variety of wines every night over dinner so they get a sense of good Australian wine. We don’t want to go overboard, so max $30 a bottle.
Varieties we would explore include, sparkling, sauvignon blanc, chardonnay, riesling, pinot gris/grigio, rose, pinot noir, shiraz, cabernet sauvignon and desert wine.

So what is your favourite Australian wine you would recommend?

This is obviously extremely subjective. Personally, I like Flametree winery from Margaret River. They are way less 'oaky' than normal Australian wines are, so suit my European-trained palate. They have a good range of styles. Cabernet Merlot is my fave red, but Malbec is v good too.

Prices tend to be under $30 for many, and discounted if you get a 6-monthly case from them by subscription. I have no affiliation, just like the wines, myself.

Thanks for the suggestions. I also found a good sparkling revommendation through AFR - Pirie sparkling from Tasmania. It beat a few champagnes to make it No 1 on the list. Champagne or sparkling: Max Allen’s taste test results revealed

Any recommendations for Rose and Pinot Gris/Grigio?

A few suggestions, of wines that are a bit different but very Aussie

You'll easily fine many excellent Rieslings from Eden Valley and Clare in that price range.

Wynns Black label Cabernet and Woodlands Cabernet Merlot (slightly over $30) would be worth considering.

I think sparkling at that price point you'll struggle with. The Brown Brothers used to be ok, but not had it in a long time. The Howard Park Jete is a little over but not a terrible option.

If you want to highlight the variety of Australian wine, try and get some of the classic varieties from different regions. For example (and not exhaustive):

White
Hunter Valley: Semillon - young and an aged for comparison. Maybe Broken Wood, Tyrells etc

Margaret River: Semillon / Sauvignon Blanc

Clare Valley: Riesling eg Jim Barry, Tim Adams, Sillagolee, O’Leary Walker

For something uniquely Australian too, throw in a Seppelt Original Sparkling Shiraz.
