Flying CNS to HGK direct return with CP in J class, not sure if they use the new Airbus?, what would be good seat selection?.

Do they have the new J class seat? if they do, almost all seats are the same.

Call and ask them!
Thats a bit of a rough call. Its like when people say 'google it' an normally they have and ended up asking that question because they couldn't find the answer.

The best place I have found for checking out seats is seatguru.com
I'm unsure what plane they will be using.

On your booking, what plane type is mentioned?

I think Cathay still flies regional A330's to Cairns, but knowing what is on your booking (or the date) will help with getting more info.

-- edit:

Had a look at their online timetable for CNS-HKG for several dates, and all are showing 33B as the plane type (which is their new J seats Longhaul A330)

As for a good seat, can't recommend any. Seatguru does warn about rows 11 and 22 for their proximity to toilets/bulkhead.

Assuming you mean CX when you type CP (Cathay Pacific airline code is CX and not CP), then they do operate their long-haul A330-300 configuration on the CNS-HKG route.

If travelling by myself, I tend to prefer the K seats as the starboard side aisle is exclusively for the K seats. But it really make little difference as all seats are basically the same in that aircraft configuration.

Ok thanks, I will book a window K seat in middle of row away from galley.

It'll be the 33B

Go for the forward cabin, they quite often use do not the smaller cabin between J and Y. While you could assume it would be more private, the ground staff have mentioned they will move pax to the forward cabin and leave the mid cabin empty.

Go with K.
