Word is Yananyi Dreaming is off to the paint shop next week and will lose her distinct colors.

Any particular reason why? Another QF Enhancement I suppose, just add to the bottom of the long list we hold here at the AFF...

Always stood out from the crowd :) Twas the sight...

Well they do need to paint the A/C's from time to time, and painting up a plane in special livery is not cheap, plus they have recently brought in a new special livery plane...
Doesn't mean we have to like it however...

the colours of the artwork have faded over the (10+)years...so it's had a good run...i'm guessing a full repaint of the artwork back to 'new' is more costly than a 'strip' and paint to 'stock standard' roo (which will also give the aircraft the 'new' roo...as apposed to the 'old' roo that accompanies Yananyi Dreaming)

Just paint the damn things white and red and fly 'em. Otherwise its all extra costs that pax wear one way or another.

Flew her late JAN and I liked the special feeling that I had.

I did also note at the time how faded her paintwork seemed to me.

Shame to see her pretty colours go.

Does this mean Mendoowoorrji will be the only remaining one? At first I wasn't sold on it, but after flying on it last week and seeing it up close, the attention to detail is certainly impressive.

People notice aircraft like these and although it may cost to paint it, I'm sure QF gained something out of this scheme over the past 10 years, even if not necessarily measurable.

Hopefully a 789 is delivered in a new scheme, or perhaps a 330 repainted. It is nice to see our indigenous culture displayed across Australia and the world

I don't think the current senior management and board has much flair or imagination.

She was sat at BNE this morning and is definitely calling out for a new coat of paint. A shame the distinctive coat will be lost. She has followed SWMBO and I around Australia in the last 3 months or so and will now fade into being just another 737.

I noticed in Sydney this morning Yananyi Dreaming in service still in its old paint scheme, looks like the main wing tips might have been freshened up.
