Googe Chrome - Google Maps Issue

I use Google Chrome on Vista on an HP laptop. The last few times I've tried to use the directions function on Google Maps, it just hangs on 'loading' after I click on 'get directions' (it has been stuck for 10 minutes now!). It seems to work fine on IE8 (albeit slow, hence the reason I use Chrome, rather than IE). Ironic that Google Maps works on IE but not on Google Chrome!

Does anyone know what the problem might be?

like every other computer issue, it's usually not only 1 culprit thats causing the problem.

1. i'd restart computer.
2. check chrome is most up to date
3. clear your cache
4. and last resort reinstall chrome

1st would normally solve any issue.
