Grammar Discussions

Certainly if you adopt my convention (not recognised by the majority it seems) that there is only one birthday per person.

I fear though; my pursuit of the truth is fruitless .
Exactly. All the rest are anniversaries of said birthday.

At least you and I are on the same page. Or at least a reasonable facsimile of the same page! :D

Maybe it is time to clarify birthday and birth day.
Perhaps the latter does occur once per year??

Isn't being picky the reason for grammar rules?

There I go, again I am imagining I am wandering

I remember my first big editing project at my last employer, back in 2002. It was the first time I'd encountered the word incentivise.

I think I recall reading that John Howard had an election platform in 1987 based on "incentivisation".

I may be showing my age here, but I was not paying attention to federal elections in 1987! I was somewhat aware of Sir John, being a Queenslander, but that's the only electoral knowledge I remember from the 80s. :P

I'm just wondering if anyone has seen formal rules on how many "you know, like" are allowed per sentence. If there is, it seems not too many have heard about it.

Today I’ve also seen EWES, and YEZZ (as in YEZZ ALL)
I would hang around with a more literate crowd like us and youse on AFF.
