We have decided our $1500 each package for the grand final we had promissed each other is a no go - the $$$ can and will be better used when we head to China at Christmas - Mrs! also needs a new cold weather wardrobe so the grand final is off... *sob, sob - oh my mighty saints...*

Anyway, I have at least had some consession - we intend to party down in the city (we know St Kilda will win) all night, starting with watching the game at Crown.

This is an inpromptu invite to all those who wish to attend an AFF GF day (and maybe night) celebrated in a way that we do so well - drinking and eating!

We (Mrs! & I) will be kicking off at 1300ish with a drink at "the pub" at crown then progressing across to the bar adjacent from the movie ticket sales boxes (10M away from the pub) where they have BIG screens to watch the game - it used to be called the "All Stars" bar but has since changed it's name...

Starters:

munitalP + 1 (fanatical saints supporters!)

Mr!

munitalP,

Have a great party and I hope the Saints win for you, though I also hope it is a good close game. I'll be looking on from Florida and following what I can.

As a long-time fanatical Saints man I will be inside the G and already have my 5 tickets. Larger festivities with my two dozen likewise afflicted mates will start earlier with a carpark Chicken & Champagne.

However you mention $1500. The cheapest package if not sold-out already was Port Adelaide's at $750 each.

I'll be at the 'G ... as a full AFL member I have attended every AFL GF from 1992 onwards ...

Last year was especially sweet. :D

(Had a ticket for 1991 as well, but pneumonia put paid to that :()

No real interest in football, so I might pass. Have fun! Hope your team wins. :D

Indeed it was! Unfortunately I was stuck at home in recovery after extracting my wisdom teeth, but the result was all that mattered anyway.

Hope the Saints win for you too munitalp, can't let those Cats back in the house just yet. :)

I'll be there. Then you and Mrs! can teach me a thing or 2 about footy. ;)

Unfortunately the other half will be down at Mansfield that weekend.

Was considering coming down and reaching deep for the GF, but Sat night result put paid to that.

I will be barracking for the Saints in theGF

Don't worry NM, you can kick on and watch the mighty Storm play the Broncos later on that evening in Melbourne.

I will not be missing this one (away last year)...to sing and yell....:):)

We are Geelong, the greatest team of all,
We are Geelong, We're always on the ball,
We play the game, as it should be played
at home or far away
our banners fly high, from dawn to dark
down at Kardinia Park!

now, if you apply DUVALS triangle to the Geelong club song, then using the HANSON ratios, multiply the result buy 23, it comes out like this...

We are Geelong, we think we are the greatest team of all,
But look what the hawkes done, we weren't on the ball,
We play the game, as it should be played
with a little help from the umpires
our banners fly high, from dawn to dark
while the saints take home the flag![/

19 wins in a row and no flag:confused::confused:
Then they will never win another!:oops:

Hopefully it will be a good contest.
Good luck!

No it wasn't! :(

Now, if you aren't a full AFL member at the the first bounce, you may well be a full AFL member at final siren!

I would have been on for Crown, but a St Kilda supporting mate of mine has a spare ticket (he did offer it to a Saints supporter first) so for the first time since 1979  I'll be going to a GF, and first time seeing the Cats in one. Hope I don't jinx them!

Does the standard pass out policy apply (can get one anytime?) - we need to perform a little skulllduggery as he can only get 2 x Adult and 2 x concession.

I can't imagine it being anything other than a (cliche time) crackerjack game!

Another Saints supporter here and yes I will be in Melbourne for the weekend. If I can't get a ticket I'll probably see you at the casino.

Of course if you have a ticket to sell them PM me.

hey if you don't ask you don't get. :)

It starts at 5:30am here if I want to watch it live.

Trying to decide whether to or not.
