I know you are joking ... but if you ever find Grange at $10/bottle ... Please PM meLooks like someone at QF found the cellar at Mascot and decided to liberate a couple of $10 bottles of Penfolds they got at BWS back in 2000!
Wow!! Looks like it was being served in the F / P1 / CL section of the lounge? Any idea how many bottles?

If this ain't the motivation to get P1, I'm not sure what else is ....only in that section
No one plans to have a '97 Penfolds Grange, but when the opportunity arises you don't look a gift horse in the mouth!Just 1. And yes, only in that section… at 9am. Wasn’t planning on having red with brekky.
Or flying QF F for that matter! If this ain't the motivation to get P1, I'm not sure what else is ....
I did know many moons back someone who got the opportunity to buy bottles of Grange for $50 per bottle. The only issue was labels and slight packaging issues. I would like some NQR packaged Grange .I know you are joking ... but if you ever find Grange at $10/bottle ... Please PM me
Might of been a scenario ofWow!! Looks like it was being served in the F / P1 / CL section of the lounge? Any idea how many bottles?
Perhaps QF celebrating the blocking of QR expansion into Oz ? Or left over opened bottle(s) from AJs farewell office party?Bit of a surprise at 9am and it didn’t go well with a flat white, but the 1997 was a hitView attachment 359439
It’s better than the vintage in my cellar…(zip ).The '97 wasn't a great year though
I have great confidence it’s greatness outshines cardboard box wineThe '97 wasn't a great year though
I hope QF will let me be the judge of this myself when I'm in the Flounge in a couple of months. Preferably by allowing me to compare it to other vintages...The '97 wasn't a great year though
There was a 2nd bottle in MEL…I bet they've just opened a single bottle once so they can say in their marketing and social media that look, Grange is served in the F lounge.
And I'm not a P1, but I can say that in the times I have been in the F lounge, I have not seen anyone getting escorted into the red roped off area ... I did see someone sitting there in one of my trips (assuming they were escorted) ... Also I think the lounge team could be aware of the equipment in use on the day .. say IME, most of the AM departures until 1030 are on the A330s or B787s with no F class ... so the lounge team will know that the roped off area will never be used until say a particular time? Just guessing here ...As a P1 and even travelling in F I have never been escorted to the roped off area. I'll be insisting next time....
