Greetings to the AFF community

Hi all.

I fly only EK internationally and VA domestically. Mostly my destinations are the UAE, Uganda, Ethiopia and Nigeria but also Singapore, USA, Europe and Scandinavia.

I have worked on contract to many Australian and international companies for decades, involved in the design installation and commissioning of electrical and automation systems in small and large scale manufacturing.

My 11 years in Dubai exposed me to some great engineering challenges. Unfortunately that city is a centre for trafficking of young women for prostitution, mainly from Africa and China. This appalling activity determined a new focus for my life and resulted in my withdrawal from full time paid work.

For the last 15 years I have been primarily involved in the repatriation of African women trafficked into the UAE. Most of my resources are now directed at supporting these women and their families with education, housing and businesses so that they gain economic independence from the African patriarchy and a much greater control over their lives.

Secondarily, I contribute in any way possible to the disruption of established networks that allow human trafficking to continue.

So I guess my main value to the community will be answering questions re Emirates, except I don't use miles for awards or upgrades. But I will answer any question to the best of my ability!
