Gross things people do on flights | News.com.au

“I was on a plane next to a sweet looking elderly woman, who asked me if I had a pin. I was young, it was the '90s, I had some flair on my purse, so I took off a button and gave it to her, wondering why she needed it,” Kweena wrote.

“Well, she said that her colostomy bag was filling with gas and she needed to release the pressure before the bag burst. She released it all right, and the most horrific stench filled the plane. Everyone thought it was coming from me.”

Good for a laugh, though sitting next to an elderly passenger with a full colostomy bag isn't high on my bucket list :D

One would have thought that anything to do with a colostomy bag is really something that should be done in the toilet. This includes releasing pressure.

I've been lucky, all of my flights (so far) people have been fairly well behaved, although I usually fly on flights full of business people, and I rarely fly on LCC's.

Sounds like a lot of BS to me. have you seen colostomy bag? not something that is going to be hidden away on a flight, to pull out at the last minute and stick a pin into it. As for pressure build up, from what? It certainly can't have been left long enough to start to ferment!

Yes.
And it never ceases to amaze me what people will do such as smoking whilst having oxygen.
Some of us do produce prodigious quantities of gas.

I once sat beside someone in on a flight in J class between HKG and BKK who spent the whole time using the laminated escape route card to clean the gunk out of each and every one of his toes.

Haven't touched one since...

Conduct not befitting a CEO of certain airline. Maybe you can get away with 'it' on a fold down seat in First Class on QF but would like to see him try on one of his own aircraft, hang on does he even fly on his own aircraft???

Perhaps one should behave like one is the CEO even when one is a mere Commercial General Manager.

Bottums up!

Well, he was still promoted to the top job, unlike Lisa Robertson (who at least had the decency to conduct her funny business in the loo!).

SYD-PER on Tuesday this week. Someone in the vicinity of me (I narrowed it down to a guy across the isle from me) was "venting" some gas. He dropped a few big ones. (I correctly guessed it was him because when we were disembarking, there was a pause of about 5 minutes, and he keep dropping 'em, l was stuck in no-mans land).

It is even worse when everyone stands at the end of a flight and the trapped odour escapes. Not a very nice moment.:(

The change in air pressure as the plane climbs perhaps.....

I'm sorry, but your description of this incident was absolutely hilarious. I literally LOL'd.

An older gentlemen took it one step further when being transferred into an aisle wheelchair from his seat.

He was wearing shorts and something fell out of the trouser leg onto the seat. Without being too specific, if any AFFers here are South Park fans they may be familiar with the character Mr Hankey. Thankfully this 'Mr Hankey' didn't talk although his presence did leave a few people speechless.
