Guesting in different lounges

Why would going from one lounge to another (as a solo traveler, or with same guest) be in the spirit of the rules, but bringing a different guest not?

To me, if we are allowed to go to multiple lounges, and we obey to the access rules each time, I can't see a breach of rules.

I agree. I don't think there's anything wrong with guesting different people into different lounges.

and surely that's the point of the June lounge crawls with various guests coming and going during the long haul of the crawl

I have done this earlier this year with my partner and her sister.
Guested her sister in QF Biz lounge, did a quick lap and then left. Went with my partner to the QF First lounge and had no issues on entry.
Wouldn't recommend doing it all the time but it worked on that occasion without even a question.

Good to hear a first hand report about the QF lounges.

yes, wouldn't want to do it on a regular basis. But for the odd occasion when parents or the in-laws visit, it'd be nice to know that this is doable. Cheers!

How rigorous are the lounge keepers with children? Technically, a status holder is entitled to one guest when travelling on a JQ flight number, but do they enforce that guest and count children in the overall allotment? The rules suggest they do but I wonder if it is enforced in practice or is it just a case of YMMV.

QF often let accompanied children in to their lounges on top of allowances but only for QF status holders (and Qantas Club members probably). I got a definite no with BA Silver (OWS)-ended up using passes

Sadly QF are inconsistent on this, back when they had an official QF rep on AFF what you say was confirmed, but in practice it comes down to what the door angel decides on the day (in my experienc)

For Qantas lounges, an unlimited number of children under 4 can be brought in, but from age 4 to 17 only 2 children are allowed.

I wonder how many under 4 children can one practically be travelling with?

@jpp42 its great that you are up to date with what QF policy states. Wouldn’t it be nice if the QF Lounge agents were also on top of their own access rules

Love this site! Came on to do a search because I have a similar query. Travelling next week with wife and 2 kids and my dad is tagging along on outbound trip - travelling business class. I'm platinum and want to treat my dad and take him into the first lounge but understand that we cant all get in there so... Was thinking to go with the family and him to the business lounge, leave the family there and then head to the first lounge with dad. Understand that not everyone thinks its a good idea but that aside it sounds like it should be 'work'?

Ah thanks and good pick up on my poorly worded post! Only my dad is travelling business on this particular trip... So, even on that basis (with him in business and my Platinum status) we are all able to get into the business lounge. Question is whether we are 'eligible' (or able) to leave the guests there and visit another lounge...

I reckon you'd have to be pretty pedantic to say that's not OK
