Here's a way to 'hold' a fare for two weeks on the SQ website giving you time to arrange other details before committing the funds.

When making a recent booking directly on the SQ website I had processed a booking all the way to the payment page where upon I needed to go transfer some funds to make the final payment. I got distracted by dinner then when I came back a few hours later I just started a new search and booking from scratch which I completed and paid.

The original un-ticketed booking is still sitting on the Manage Bookings and SQ advise I have two weeks to ticket that. Nice but I don't need it this time.

Which raises another question. If your total payment exceeds your CC limit, can you make two part payments, during that two week period?

I suspect you’d have to call and it still wouldn’t be possible, but the best way for this is use an agent. They can take part payment to the agency account, then get the next and so on until paid, then ticket it.

Ticketing time limits vary with the airline, booking class and the wind so it won’t always be 2 weeks, though.

If you use an agent then typically they will charge a fee, and invariably additional fees if you have to cancel the booking.

That was exactly my problem with the first booking which I ended up doing as two bookings both within the CC limit.

I did not look or expect to see a way to use multiple payments on the SQ site.

When I had this same fare booked through an agent, the price was the same but there was a an additional $500 cancellation fee on top of the SQ cancellation fee. I didn't see much value add there in the event I have to cancel for a non-insurable reason.
