Has anyone used EBP to pay subcontractor invoices?

Tacking on here.
I am an amateur credit card churner and obsessive points collector, although DH and I are only wage earners - so no subcontractor payments, ATO, super etc.
Could i use this facility to pay into my mortgage offset account from my credit card, collect the points, draw from the offset account to pay the credit card at the end of the interest free period - rinse and repeat???

Sebt you a message :)

Not all doom and gloom. Think of it like an added fuel charge, or airport rent increase.

There was never any "advertised monthly fee" charged since the day it started.
Still need to pay the bills / earn the points. ;)

That's a bit cryptic but there's a point where it's too much hassle to use EBP unless you're putting through 6 figures, it's easier just to buy AA/UA points on a sale. I mean to say there's a mental toll of faffing around with it to save a few bucks, just like FlyBuys is. Time is money. Instead of buying SQ points at 1c they now cost 1.65c which is near the 2c redemption rate. Forget it. Over.

How is not a terrible result for users? Fees up 62%? I put through about $1m a year, which will now cost me another $5k, most of my suppliers will gladly accept credit card for less than 1.3%

Yes, these responses are pretty interesting. In the other thread the response was "it's still worth it if it's tax deductible"

Sure, it may still just compute in 10% of situations, but previously those situations were 0.5% cheaper and therefore a really good deal, and now they're just mathematically feasible. Nobody should be cheering, everyone should be heading for the doors....

Maby we could do a private poll (private msg) on how many flyers are using B PAY, including how easy it is.

Then some of us could make an issue that they may be lose upto 100's of members who may be spending 1000's each month.

Just found out that EBP is classed as a non points earning biller through ANZ, also non points earning is Avis car hire ("Avis Australia Mascot").

I was just on the phone to ANZ now. payment method (for car hire!) is classed as cash / gambling.

ebp is a part of the parent company, FSA (Fox Symes).

I asked ebp about accepting Amex, their answer :

"We are working with AMEX to allow it to be used for your Easy Bill Pay account. We will let you know when this becomes available in the near future".

Is this a new development for ANZ? - I have harvested plenty of points via my ANZ QFF card via EBP (admittedly before the recent 'enhancement')

I don't know how long it's been since no points have been earnt.

I miggt beed to cancel some cards and churn.

Was thinking of spending $18k today of a future holiday deposit, but the fee of 1.3% made a cost of $230 ish..

Should I, shouldn't I, that is the next questions! Points earning rate for one of my cc's is:

1 QFF for the 1st $5,000
0.5 QFF $5,000.01+

5000 QF + 6.5k QF = 11.5K in points earnt for a cost of $234.00.

Cost / points value: $0.0203c (2.03c) per point. Was a bit cheaper before the fee increase.

What card is this?

Due to an ANZ points bonus offer I was using ANZ black heavily with EBP well into August - they paid every dollar spent, and I'm talking hundreds of thousands of them.

My ANZ card is the ANZ Travel adventures.

Don't know that one - guessing the type of card is the issue.

Likely to be all anz issued cards. as per conditions. Business is in the gamble / cash advance (don't earn points) payments category.

It's all speculation until we get more data points.

That said, at 1.3% I won't be providing any!
