We are looking forward to finally getting to Aus from AKL. Tickets booked, but when I try for seat selection there are some seats I used to be able select but are currently blocked. examples are
QF741 SYD-ADL in 737 shows row 4 and 5 blocked.
QF 145 SYD-AKL in 330 shows rows 23 and 24 blocked.

Have I mis-remembered the good old days, is this the new normal, or should these seats be available for 2 WP passengers.
Has anyone else seen this? Perhaps I should try the helpline:eek:

Thanks for update. I must have been confused about the old trans-Tasman flights. We used to be able to select row 4 then and I cant remember the last time we flew domestic in 737 Y.

I miss the old travel. I am not match fit and the rules are now as complex as the rugby breakdown laws.
Used to be, Taxi to airport, flash the passport, go to lounge, get on plane, arrive, smile and get on with it.
Now its read volume 33, amended 11/4/22. If a passenger is to board, the passenger must at all times remain behind thee last feet of the immigration official unless the immigration official drops the laptop. At this point, the passenger may catch the laptop without penalty. If a teammate catches the laptop a penalty of 15 minute will be observed unless a negative RAT test is produced.
At least we no longer travel with kids. Another whole rule book for that

FWIW, WP can generally select from rows 4 & 5 on 737 operated trans Tasman flights but not on domestic 737 flights.

For 330 - rows 23 and 24 are blocked until T-80 for both domestic and international.
My recollection must be rusty because I thought trans-Tasman 737 flights were treated exactly the same as domestic flights so rows 1, 4 and 5 were off-limits to Platinum status passengers until T-80. All other international 737-operated flights (eg: to DPS, NAN, NOU) have no such restrictions and these seats can be selected from time of booking.

WPs have always been able to select row 4 on international services on the 737 at time of booking. I just booked one recently so still possible post covid.
