Hawaiian to fly Brisbane-Honolulu

I know someone who flew SYD-HNL with HA last week in J (or F, as they market it to Americans). On his return flight he said there was a group who had flown over in QF J on the 767 and were so disgusted with being served up a 767 for their flight over that they had cancelled and booked HA J for return. The cost of doing that must have been frightening, assuming QF applied the fare rules to their cancellation.

They lose 8 inches of pitch flying with HA, however I am guessing the IFE would make up for those extra 8 inches in the eyes of most.

There are plenty worse places to be spending 9 hours than a 767 international config J seat...

Sounds like a case of more dollars than sense.

Certainly don't disagree with you there! I guess they assumed that, for the price, they'd be getting an A330 with Skybeds. After all there's not too many 10hr flights ex-SYD these days for $11k return that don't serve up at least sloping beds and on-demand IFE.

Speaking of IFE, we're booked to fly HA BNEHNLBNE in Y, and their website indicates the IFE is not on these services for this routing (digEplayer). Sounds strange to me, or have I misinterpreted this?

There are no others I believe. HNL is the only QF international route flying 763's to my knowledge. (excluding fights to NZ) At the fares charged in J it is quite outrageous, and in economy, no personal IFE at all. This is 2012! I have been complaining to QF for years. Finally you just forget it and take your business elsewhere.

Only portable IFE in business on HA's 763's. It's pretty old and ordinary but at least it's a relatively reasonable fare. The A330's have more pitch and AVOD IFE but only from SYD!

45-46 inches. Still not as much as the dream time seats by 4-5 inches
