While many would know of the various places to eat at Changi, there is also a staff canteen at T1 and T2 that offer very good value meals from 7AM to around 7 PM so long as your outside the airside area, so if your caught at Changi during the day and feel peckish, give it a whirl.

Where?
On the arrivals level head to the T2 end where Burger King is, walk out the door and turn left, you will see a sign:

Walk towards the sign and down the stairs just past it and you are there:

Prices are around $4-5, and public are charged a little bit more than the workers so its all good! I had chicken rice which was $4 for lunch.

I like the kaya toast they have in terminal 3 as well.....

Other than the staff canteen there is a proper hawker centre in Changi at Changi village down by the ferry wharfs. Maybe 5-10 minutes away from the airport by taxi. It has just been upgraded recently. Great for getting a fix of chilli crab.

Absolutely...I have had the chilli crab at Changi village, washed down with a cold Tiger

In addition, there is the East Coast Lagoon Food Village hawker centre on the East Coast, about 10mins away by taxi (or 10 mins + 15 mins walk by public bus 36). Also has great seafood, but my favourites there are barbecued chicken wings and satay, it has many satay vendors with charcoal grills - simply order and they will cook and bring to your table. I generally dislike shellfish, so can't comment on the seafood, but have been there with friends who loved the garlic prawns from one particular stall.

Closer to the airport, various malls accessible via MRT (such as Tampines) will have food centres, and in basement 2 of T3 there is a Kopitiam branded hawker centre that has a range of options (Tip: if spending more than $20 or making multiple visits over the course of 2 years, you can get 10% discount by buying Kopitiam card for $2 and loading with value).

Food in SKL last Friday night basically abysmal.

Had to cancel my Suite Saver on Sat night and return home Fri night - only seats available J - you guys going to staff canteens etc in and around Changi get free Charles Heidsieck with your meals

(Good news I think for SQ J travellers - had 2 sectors last week and both had CH Champers on board again - and in SKL J Lounge - rather partial to that drop. Questioned FA re change in sustenance and was informed simply case of exhausting existing stock - but I digress)

Apologies to OP for going OT.
