Had a look to try and book a DJ flight from HBA to MEL on a Sunday and was amazed that there are only three flights per day and even then the pickings are nonexistent if you want to travel in the afternoon.
Sunday, April 9: 6am, 10.10am or 9.45pm. They're the only options if you want to to travel DJ.
Slim pickings on the other carriers too. Just one flight at 1pm on Jet* and that's it between 10.10am and 4.45pm.
I thought services to/from HBA would have expanded, not shrunk.
Thoughts? Reasons?

Edit: I did another search using the airline's website timetable and there is a 2.10pm and a 5.55pm but obviously the aircraft on SUnday April 10 are full so are not showing on the booking engine.
Sorry for the confusion.

You would think there would be more services than 5/day in a state where it's pretty difficult to get out any other way

Do they have enough planes to cope with greater demand? Everytime I fly DJ they always seem to be arriving late which leads me to wonder whether they're stretching their fleet.

airlines are business to serve paying customers...

you would think they have done the analysis and know the market and if more flights were warranted and money to be made they would put them on eh???

5 flights a day is not bad for a Sunday, traffic to the apple isle is very seasonal, where there is a demand there will be flights.

Actually Sunday is a busy day for Tassie-all the locals coming back from their weekend in MEL and us workers coming to start on Monday.
