Heads up about program changes

These changes are slightly positive in that they don't penalise me for flying CX or BA from HKG to LHR (like last trip) when QF don't even fly that route.

Would have meant I did not need to waste SC's to requal for WP this year!

Playing around with old and new calculators routes not served by EK/QF into Europe, there is a slight increase in SCs for flights into Europe with QR from DOH.

The catch on QR being that First will now be classified a Business, and Business reduced to Flex Economy earning so still a reduction.. :(

The SC earn rates HKG-LHR are still less than they were before the introduction of 'simpler and fairer' and flying to LHR via HKG still earns less than via DXB, even if using QF ex-Aus.

That is not surprising that any combination that can be achieved using QF flights will earn more than using other carriers, even if they are OW partners.

I suspect that the only time an equivalent earn is possible is with a OW partner to and from destinations that cannot be achieved using QF flights. Simple but farer.
