Hi!

My name is Cedric and I'm not from Australia at all (I'm actually from Belgium), but I'm a frequent traveller and this forum seemed interesting to me so I just stopped by.
Hopefully I can get a lot of travel tips in here.

See you soon!

Cedric

Thanks! One quick question : does anyone know how to stop receiving emails whenever someone responds to a thread? It's really annoying. I've tried to click on the link at the bottom of the emails but it doesn't seem to be working. In my profile I've set the "Default Thread Subscription Mode" option to "Do not suscribe" and "Quote Notification" to No but I keep getting emails. Do I have to wait or is there something I'm missing?

You have done what I would have tried already - maybe is could be that you were subscribed to the tread before making the changes? if you go to settings in the top right and then subscriptions and if it is there unsubscribe?

Thanks for the suggestion. I've now clicked on the second link in the emails (unsuscribe only in this thread, and not all of them) and I've got a confirmation message so hopefully this will work and for all the threads, not just this one. I will keep searching in the settings anyway. Thanks for the help!

Excellent - I guess you will find out if it worked from this post :)

Have you ever travelled to Australia?

It worked! Thanks.
No, unfortunately I've never been to Australia. But I would really love to some day, seems amazing. Any suggestions on the best places to visit? (I'm more a city kind of guy, so I would love to visit Sydney and Melbourne, of course).

(I'm more a city kind of guy, so I would love to visit Sydney and Melbourne, of course).

I'm the opposite so not the best to offer advice, but I am sure some more qualified will.

Howdy. I set up a separate nothing email address I never check, so notices all go there.

Cheers

Matt

I might do that, if I get notifications on the others threads as well. But for now I don't receive emails for this thread so it's fine. Thanks though!

Where do you live Steady? Something nice to see there as well?

I live in Tasmania - the island state at the bottom of mainland Australia. Australia is a wonderful place with many places I would happily live - my work takes me all over the place but Tassie is home for me.

Tassie is very scenic, very quiet (in the area I live), clean, good produce (dairy, beef, lamb, seafood, wine, cider, beer, spirits, vegetables, stone fruit, berries, etc.) It is colder than most of mainland Australia and there are less employment opportunities.

Google/search; Hobart, Cradle Mountain, Strahan (Macquarie Harbour), Freycinet Peninsular (Wine Glass Bay), the Overland Track and the Walls of Jerusalem for some examples of things to see and do

Hi Cedric welcome to the AFF club how's summer in Belgium and the holy grail of chocolate !

Thank you to all of you!

I will have a look at cities you mention, Steady, it seems nice as well.
What about the weather in Australia during the winter (summer for us, when I have the time to make longer travels)? Especially in Sydney and Melbourne, do you guys know about it?

Welcome aboard, as with any new journey who knows what will sprout for the man from Brussels?

One question; do you drive a Nissan, Cedric?
