Hi everyone!

I'm planning to meet up with JohnK tomorrow, but have an issue in navigating Sydney's airport..

I fly Per-Syd tomrrow on Jetstar and I understand its a different terminal to where the J lounge is located. Problem is I got check in luggage as well as handcarry, as I need to change terminals, what suggestions are there? I either:

Leave my luggage on the carousel and make my way to J lounge to meet up and head back after I finish to collect luggage?
Take my luggage with me to the J lounge terminal, however check in luggage might not be allowed in?
Take my luggage to a locker somewhere if available?

I haven't been to Syd in a very very very long time so I don't know my way around.

Any silver bullet solutions?

Cheers
Lionel

No airside transfers.
Assuming your checkin is not gigantic.

I would collect it at T2, head upstairs to arrivals, walk across the carpark (literally through it) to the Qantas T3 terminal.
Go through security - they won't be too fussed on luggage size.

What moa999 said, except I'd go down to the train station access tunnel and keep walking straight past the train station to get to T3.

Or the other option could have been to meet up in T2 but that is not much of a lounge anyway.

So leaving luggage from a JQ flight on the carousel is not recommended? There is no issue leaving luggage from a QF or VA flight and I have been told on more than one occasion that if I going to be in the lounge after the flight to let luggage services know that I will be late to collect luggage.

One time I left luggage on the carousel in T2 for the rest of the day as I was travelling NAA-MQZ-SYD-WGA//ABX-SYD and I did not want to check luggage any further than SYD. Received a call when I was in WGA and I simply told them the truth. Collecte luggage on my return to SYD.

You could always put the luggage in a locker at T3 before heading up to the Lounge then retrieve it after the lounge visit.

Where are you going after the lounge visit?

Not sure but I believe vitagen is heading off into the city with his wife.

He has been in touch with me and his flight is a little late. ;) In fact the JQ flight was on descent in front of me as I was driving down Qantas drive....

MrsVitagen and I had the pleasure to meet John this evening. Gosh it was a mission to get past security with all our luggage! Got told numerous times from the pilots that they won't fit in overhead luggage, the look on their faces was priceless!

Im staying in World Square and here for a few days to experience the dining. I was also persuaded to do the harbour climb tomorrow.
