HELP: Need 5 Qantas Status Credits

Silver is worth striving for if not able to reach higher.

Priority checkin, extra luggage allowance, international seat selection and 50% bonus points.

Yes, but someone who barely flies enough to earn Silver probably won't get a huge amount of benefit from any of the above. I speak from experience of being QF Silver for 3 years. If the OP can persuade QFF to grant Silver for free then fair enough, but I would suggest not going on a status run.

I remember my first QFF year in 2003 where work sent me to SE Asia a few times in economy. On one of the trips end August 2003 I went to BKK to checkin for BA flight back home and there were about 100 or more people in economy queue in front of me. The flight was delayed ~3 hours and someone was walking around handing out meal vouchers. Took forever to get through that queue.

That membership year I just made Silver and the queues disappeared. It was fantastic. Made Silver again the next year and then Gold the year after and now Platinum 10+ years.

I hate queues and queuing in general. Air Asia is one that is notoriously bad. KLIA and KLIA2 are horrendous with all queues. It's depressing. Status helps a little and I will spend money to continue getting the status I want.

Good point, but you are WP and your benefits are far more valuable to a frequent traveler than a PS. A lot has changed since 2003 and from my experience Y check in is bad and I would not want to be in that queue. Int J has many OWR and OWS and paid J PAX these days and I do not really want to be in that J queue unless I have to.

If the ask was "need 5 SC to retain WP or SG", yes go on a status run, but the OP asked how to get 5 SC's without flying.
