Help needed for trip to England.

Hi everyone, ;)

I am planning the next tick off my " Bucket List" and am in need of good sound advice from the Members.. I have never been to England before ( my trips mainly to Canada & Mainland USA over the years ).. don't have enough Qantas FF points so am looking at other airlines.. a friend reccomended Emirates Economy ???.

Being 73 years young and travelling alone.. I would like to spend a few days in London for sight seeing then catch a train to Lincolnshire ( where Ancestors came from and methinks I'm too old to hire a Car) would also love to see Edinburgh Scotland for a couple of days.. then travel train to Lancaster, Lancashire to stay with a Cousin and then fly home from Manchester..

My problem is.. where to start journey, good safe airlines have a stopover ( methinks I will need it ) and most important nice safe/clean Hotels with a reasonable rates... of course I also need to watch the pennies... trip would be for 4 weeks duration, as I have to get back home to hubby.. ( he doesn't like travelling).

I know I'm asking a lot but I would really appreciate any advice given..

Yours in Flying..

Grandma's Wings.

when looking at QF points have you ranged through the site looking for specials? there are some gems in there if you search, and if dates are not had and fast

Hi Tony,

Yes you are right.. Pinchbeck is only 2 miles from Spalding..I was thinking of going to Lincoln and then hiring a car and travelling to Spalding and Pinchbeck that way I can also see a little of the County.... but there may be other options available.. I have heaps of time to plan ahead.
I appeciate your thoughts and response.

Thank You

Sincerely
Grandma's Wings.

You may be better hiring the car in Peterborough rather than Lincoln. The journey from both places will be pretty boring but a little easier from Peterborough. Having said that Lincoln is probably the more interesting city. (As much as it pains me to say that!!!) South Lincolnshire is flat and boring....I say this as a former native!!!
