Help with frustrating Velocity booking glitch

I'm really sick of the glitch with international bookings using Velocity and I'm wondering if anyone knows a workaround or has a solution? The glitch occurs when I do searches from European destinations to Australia for flights using Velocity points. So, for example, a search for flights from Paris to Melbourne results in the "Select from available dates" screen.

But when I click on one of those dates (in the example above, 1 October) and then select "Find Flights", it just takes me back to that exact same "Select from available dates" screen (sometimes with different dates listed as available, sometimes with the same dates). And when I select October 2, the screen refreshes to this:

This is very frustrating, because the list of "Available" dates appears to bear no resemblance to dates that have reward flights actually available!

Any thoughts or insights on how to efficiently find dates on which reward flights are actually available would be appreciated!

I think I've decided that the second screen might actually be asking about the return leg.
I've never actually tested this theory, because everytime this happens I select the same departure date on the second screen... then der!!! isn't that supposed to be return date. Then I give up.

I know what you mean and I think you are right when you select "return" on the prior screen. However, this is what I'm getting even when I select "one way".

VA has the worst search function for partners.

I have had the above for many months. I've also had QR seats appear, get through to later screens to be told I need to log in (even though I was) and once you navigate away the seats are not available. The other glitch is you do make it to the payment and after submit you get 'Technical Error' and 'The price is no longer available.'

After months of frustration with QR, I just booked EY and SQ which work like normal. I burned all my points and will never use VA to book international awards ever again.

Sadly, I have to agree. However, actual, real availability is still better than the competition. I was up at 1:30am (90 mins after Velocity makes new seats on Qatar available) and did a quick search of availability 330 days out. Business class seats to/from Europe for late April 2024 were there for the taking.

That's one of the things that makes this so frustrating. Availability is there. It's just that Virgin's search engine makes it incredibly difficult to find.

But are they able to be ticketed is the question?

I too receive the 'please sign in' message when I already am, why why I ask. little frustration though tbh.

anyhow if you to vow to never use an airline again cos of an IT glitch, I'd imagine you'll be catching trains & cruise liners before the years out.

What an absurd comment. I fly Intl F on QF, EK, EY, SQ, TG, BA and AA regularly.

How I choose to burn my points is an entirely separate matter. I stand by my comment I shall not transfer to Velocity to redeem ever again.

We'll aren't you so great flying F everywhere. High 5 yourself and pat yourself on the back.

Your not flying velocity cos they had an IT glitch..... You've never had an IT glitch in QF website???

Velocity is a FF Program. VA is an airline.

Your comment makes no sense.

I believe you also meant ‘You’re?’

It’s getting a little hot in here!

@MrJetset makes a good point: that there’s a difference between a temporary glitch and a website being permanently broken. The Virgin booking engine is broken, it’s been broken for months and Virgin isn’t doing anything to fix it.
