Hi air Canada united or qantas or Virgin I want to travel to calgary canada want mel to calgary in business Calgary to mel in economy
Qantas wouldn’t do it when I tried recently for a trip to Singapore. I wanted to do a PE day flight there and J overnight return.

Suspect you would need to use a TA

Any reason not to book them on separate tickets as one way flights? For connecting flights I can understand the need for them to be on the same PNR but not for distinct trips.

Potentially. I'd be interested to know (as someone who has booked in this way several times before and not had much of a frame of reference to determine what the difference in cost would be via a TA) how much could be saved by a TA booking these legs on a customer's behalf.

I'm certainly well aware of the adage that a round trip cost is not the same as 2 x one-way legs on a legacy carrier, but given the reason I've done this is differing cabin classes, I am not sure how true/significant that cost difference actually is. I suspect it is very much true for standard packaged return fares but not sure about these custom affairs.
