I hadn't read much here about where people put their miles when they make a booking with Hertz (I'd been putting them through to Qantas previously at the oh so generous 3 points per dollar spend). In light of the recent sign-up offers with bmi I ended up with a Diamond Club account (as I'm sure many people here have :D).

One of the benefits I've since noticed is that you can earn 1700 miles for each Hertz booking (if you click through from the flybmi.com website) - and even more surprisingly it actually gives decent rates too (for those of us not on corporate rates). For a single day rental it represents a pretty nice return anyway, well worth a look for those looking to get more out of their rentals - even better at the moment when you book through flybmi.com/doublemiles for rentals until the end of September !

That and Hilton stays are some of the best value ways to earn bmi miles. For those crediting Hilton stays, simply switch the HHonors earning option to 'fixed miles' and insert your bmi account. You'd earn 1000 miles per night up to a max of 3 nights.

If there's a possibility that you'd earn more than the cap, you can either mattress run, or book the hotel stay via the Online Shopping link which then takes you to hilton.co.uk where you'd earn 8 miles per quid spent per stay.

All adds up v fast towards that long haul F award. :)

Until the end of Sept, bmi is having double miles for Hertz rentals, ie, 3400 miles per rental. The only thing is the amount of hassle I had trying to get my Hertz miles credited, even though it was booked through a link from bmi's website!

Is anyone else having issues getting through to the BMI online shopping site that has the links to Hertz etc?

Or does anyone have the CDP code?

Cheers
