The mining boom means that WA companies are finding it hard to get decent staff and facilities are not what you may expect over on the east coast.

While it is fair to say you can expect to get what you booked and that pre-existing damage etc will be properly noted before picking up your car, in WA and to a certain extend in NT you must go that extra step to make sure what you get is what you paid for at the time you rented and also after you have been billed.

I prefer Hertz because thats where I mostly rent, I normally get a very cheap car and great service, the examples I have given are exceptions rather than the rule when it comes to my experience in general.
