I am Hertz Five Star and have just started renting cars again after not renting for a couple of years, primarily due to COVID.
The latest standard terms when making a reservation are dated May 2021 and state that driving on unsealed roads is prohibited unless the vehicle is a 4WD. My memory is that unsealed roads was a Full Responsibility area but not prohibited, so not a breach of the rental agreement, whereas it is now.
I checked the Gold terms and the most recent is 2019 and seems to refer to the standard terms, which defeats the purpose of Gold. I checked the previous terms and they are dated 2016 - with Full Responsibility for unsealed roads.
Does anyone know when the Gold terms changed? I don’t recall receiving an email or being required to accept updated terms when logging into Hertz Gold in many years.
Thanks in advance.
