Hertz or Europcar for Velocity status match?

Keen to hear to hear the experiences of those who have taken up the status match available to Velocity Platinums. I am trying to decide whether to opt for Europcar privilege elite or Hertz presidents circle.

Is one more reliable than the other for perks/upgrades in Aus? What about overseas? TIA!

I’ve got top tier status with several hire companies and personally I don’t think any are really great TBH. Upgrades can be hit or miss in Australia but I reckon Sixt gives the best upgrades followed by Hertz. Hertz has been great for me in NZ but in the ME I found Europcar to be the best. I’ve had a few bad experiences with Europcar in Germany though so avoid them in Europe altogether now

Thanks for your insight!

I chose Europcar years ago when i first made Plat and even though i only hire cars maaaaybe once a year, I remained 'elite' for about 5 years. Now i have no status with them and continue to get upgrades (as i did this morning)...no idea why, not complaining
