Hi all!

Just got back from a lovely trip SYD > JFK which as many know there is no such thing as a direct flight (yet). Was hoping to make it the trip that got me up to Silver although a delay out of Sydney meant i missed my connection in SFO. Been trying to chase QFF to get the original routing credit for the SCs for the missed segment onto my account but not having any luck getting a response from them.. They responded to the first half of my email request about the missing double points for the first segment.

Am i right in believing that i should be entitled to both the points and SCs for the second segment that i missed due to the flight being delayed out of Syd so much that i only just arrived in SFO at the time i shouldve departed

cheers

LJ

Welcome to AFF.

Am I reading your post correctly - QF has given you the points as per your original route? If that's the case, I see no reason why SCs shouldn't also be awarded. Worth following up.

thanks for the reply - the flight is single ticket/2 segments and they have given me the points/SC for the first segment (which i flew) but not for the second segment which i missed due to the late departure out of SYD..

Welcome aboard.

But presumably you got a later connection from SFO-JFK? You won't get SCs for a flight you didn't take, but should get them for whatever the alternative was.

I was hoping because it was QF fault that i missed it that they would give the credit. the alternative flight was Delta who have no affiliation with QF..

Yes - if caused by QF and you weren't given an alternative - you should still get the original route credits.

i was put on a Delta flight about 3 hours later :( but i bought this ticket to get the QFF SCs..

I was moved from a QF flight (AKL-MEL) to an EK flight because the QF flight was delayed. I'd actually forgotten all about and called up 11 months later to claim the ORC's (SC's and points) which were in my account immediately.

and even better - Virgin gave me the points for the Delta flight too :) [you dont ask you dont get.. ]

I am no expert on Original Routing Credits, but go hard! :)
