I have been addicted to this website for a few years now and finally couldn't resist the temptation of throwing in my own grains of wisdom anymore, so here is just a bit of background on me:
Born and bred in Bavaria, arrived in Cairns in June 2000 for a 3 week holiday and I am still here, which you can blame on a drunk Kiwi who invited me for dinner and is now my husband and father of our 6 year old daughter.
Boarded my first flight at the age of 12 over 3 decades ago and even now after close to 200 flights I still get the same buzz out of it as I did then, the amazing moment when the plane accelerates and takes off with all of its bulk has never stopped to fascinate me. Luckily we live in full view of the Cairns airport where at least I can see them take off everyday even though I am not on board.
Until last year all my travel was in whY due to financial circumstances and then our finances got a boost and I discovered the joys of flying in the pointy end of the plane, which, of course, now means I can't bear the thought of yet another long haul to Europe in whY.
Having a child has never stopped us travelling, her first flight was at the age of 3 months and by the the age of 4 she had 59 flights under her belt, incl. a RTW on Star Alliance in whY (mad when I think of it now) and by now she is as addicted to planes as I am.
My ideal job would be to get paid for travelling but as I can't see this happening I'll just have to continue to travel for fun and in J that should be no problem
