Last membership year I qualified Platinum for the first time with exactly 1400 SCs and just 4 days to spare.

This year my target is to try to get 1200 SCs exactly.

Yes, it also costs more money with Qantas FF to redeem the "Free" flight than it does with AAdvantage.
