Hilton at LHR T5

Organising a trip and thinking of staying here. Can get a night for 20,000 HH points + 50GBP or 40,000 plus tax.
Has some reasonable reviews on Trip Advisor.
Has anyone stayed here and is it OK?

I haven't stayed at the T5 Hilton but have at the T3 Hilton and can recommend it. Very stylish.

I have a cart load of points, will be flying into LHR the night before a flight to SYD as BA wanted an eye-watering 274GBP for an early morning connecting flight GLA-LHR
Trying to decide whether to stay at Hilton Paddington and use the express ( which I love) or stay at the airport.
Now swinging towards Paddington, decisions, decisions

I haven't stayed at a London hotel for many years (as I live here) but you also have the option of the Hilton London Metropole which is about 300m from Paddington Station. Not sure what the points differential might be, but it might be worth the 5 minute walk. Gets you slightly away from the station too and all the associated noise and stress of that. I don't know how it stacks up inside against the Paddington property though unfortunately.

Re: the HEX, you can usually find a discount code online. Lately, the IB website has been offering 50% off which makes the train a very decent option. A night in Central(ish) London or a night in Hounslow - no contest!
