Hilton booking for family?

Yes, i have had this confirmed via Hilton Chat that you must be a staying guest. So that's fine i actually rang reservations and booked under my childs name and paid via my account. Reservation came through as her booking. Not sure where any points go so may have her join HH and get them herself.

Thanks for all the answers.

Would be interesting to know the consequences of not complying though.....

The consequences for non-compliance would max out at simply not getting the points/stays/nights/benefits, but more realistically probably no consequences. As said earlier, have a read of HH new policy with family pooling. That may be a way of staying perfectly legit, but still gaining the points/nights and stays, although I'm unsure about the status benefits.

I do this all the time, booking for my family. Its all in Asia with hotels where I normally get good service and several of them know me by sight. They don't mind and they extend full diamond benefits to the folks regardless of whether I am there or not.
But- by the letter of the T+Cs this is of course not allowed.

Just an update on this. After I called to personally discuss that i was merely booking a 2 night stay for my daughter and paying, i was allowed to make that booking and they advised me they understood the situation i was not staying. So all good.
However, when they arrived they were upgraded to Exec room, Given exec lounge access and free breakfast.
Bonus was i also received points for the booking.
So awesome job all round HH!!!

i have had about 4-5 stays of late at HSW where putting the guest (not me) as an additional guest on the booking and have experienced zero dramas. as long as they see you name on the booking and a credit card in your name paying the bill, they dont seem to mind.

last stay included 2 additional rooms for extended family and diamond benefits of lounge and downstairs breakfast were included. staff on check in mentioned normal policy was one additional room with benefits but he gave us 2. could be used with discretion due to vacancy etc

good news. Just found this thread. Haven't had a problem with daughters staying anywhere in the world with Hilton. Always get my benefits(diamond)...I always use include their name as a guest and never had any issues.
