Hi All,

I'm a gold HH, went onto the website and couldn't find the room i wanted. checked webjet and the room was available and cheap.

i booked the room using webjet. does anyone know whether i it will count for status, will i get HH points, will they recognise my status?

the hotel reference number on the webjet booking is not recognised on the HH site.

Is the webjet booking cancellable?

If so, telephone HH, get them to do a Best Rate Guarantee booking and then cancel the Webjet booking.

Otherwise the stay most likely won't credit nor will points (unless you're lucky).

tried that already, like all price guarantees the hotel chains have are a sham, they find ways to get out of it.

Called HH and their excuse was that the room i'm after isn't available if their website therefore they can't give me that rate.

Bummer. Have you also tried the hotel reservations directly, rather than Hilton central reservations?

Next best thing I guess, is to arrive at the hotel and request they add your HH number to the booking so perhaps you'll at least get any status perks. Others have reported hotels recognising status even if you don't get the points and stay credits and I think some have even managed the points and stay credits as well.

I'd even be a bit brash and telephone the hotel the day before and ask if there are possible upgrades (explaining the situation in as sweet a voice as can be mustered). May work, may not.
