Which funny enough reminds me of my first stay at a Doubletree. Was staying in Darwin for work doing afternoon/evening shift. Came back around 11pm on my first night to discover no room service. Went to the front desk all they could offer was a bottle of red wine and a stack of cookies.

Was quite a pleasant evening!

Yep not sure what is going to happen with Hilton Brisbane as well as HGI in Spring Hill. Hilton need more presence in Brisbane especially with Olympic in the next 7 years.

I wouldn't be too concerned.

We've been through this before, and when sales opened the room rates seemed a lot higher - and I actually stayed with them about 3 times over the last few months and the hotel was super busy every time. Heaps of Americans (maybe flying in from DFW?)

Might be a new business model - give everyone FOMO and then raise the rates.

Admittedly no update on the HGI Spring Hill in any article... unless someone else is there to check the construction site out.

Will be interesting who takes over the Hotel, it’s in a prime position on the mall so I imagine someone like Accor being interested .
As for HGI , it was meant to be late 2024 so not sure what happened there.

Well I was wrong.

No doubt Hilton will be on the hunt for a new hotel in Brisbane, although it might take a few years. If the Star goes bust maybe they can take over their hotel.
