Hilton Diamond through Velocity Platinum status

A recent data point.

I just re-qualified VA Platinum after 12 years of being a nobody. I hit QF LTG pre-COVID so there is no need to stay on that merry go round other than for work trips (and I'm quite enjoying VA for domestic and short international tbh).

Anyway, I called VFF to ask about getting the membership pack mailed out, noting the recent email saying that packs wouldn't be sent unless requested, and whilst on the phone I asked if there was any way to reset the HH Diamond and Europcar match offers as I had used them back in 2011 and that was pretty much a lifetime ago. A quick check with 'the supervisor' and this was ok'd. A day later I got an email saying it was all good and the options for HH or IHG, plus Hertz and Europcar are now available on the website.

I'll wait until January to kick the HH Diamond off though to get the extra year until 31/03/2027. Looking at Japan around Easter so hopefully status is through by then and I can enjoy the perks.

Used my Diamond HH at Tokyo Hilton Shinjuku, booked a basic standard King room got upgraded to a Junior Suite. Lounge is good and serves Chandon Sparkling wine (Australia) during the happy hour

I enquired this afternoon and a few hours later have just now received an email offering me a Hilton or IHG status match. I’ve logged into Velocity and this offer is indeed available again for me, 12 years later.

I just sorted my Hilton Honours Diamond status knowing I would lose Platinum Velocity (status credit rich but sector poor) on 9th September.
Having read horror stories here of wait time and worried that if I had to chase up would I overrun my review date I made request on 25th July.
Got email Saturday that upgrade had gone through.
Took about 5 working days!
Also for those waiting for end of year to implement I have Diamond status till 31st March 2026

Congrats. If you wait until the beginning of next year your Diamond status will run until 31 March 2027.

Requested my Hilton Diamond status benefit from my Velocity Platinum status and surprisingly my Hilton account has been updated today, around 10 business days after initial request, drama-free!

Was a bit nervous after reading some of the stories in this thread but grateful it went smoothly. I note that my Velocity account has my middle name whereas my Hilton account does not but that didn't seem to cause an issue

All HH accounts reset after April 1st. If you need to confirm which year you currently have status to, then I believe the only two ways are checking your monthly account email, or confirming with HH (I find the chat option in the browser to be pretty effective).

Make your request at the start of April to lock in status for the then current year, the following year, and year after that, to March 31st.

Can confirm, i applied with zero status in JAN23, got to MAR26.

VFF really need to rejig the hotel and car hire P 'benefits'. At least reset it every time you go G to P as you've already needed the extra 200 SC.

I was hoping someone else would take the 2025 activation plunge first as a data point. Ah well.

I activated it today, so hoping to have it sorted by the end of the month in advance of a February booking.
