Do people actually (accurately) work out their HHonors points crediting :?:

It looks to me that HSW consistently allocates points on the low side of what I would expect whilst other hotels in Oz seem to be pretty much on the mark.

Hilton Fiji points and stays never seem to be right unless you chase then.

I'm currently doing battle to get my stays and points for this year to balance. It is actually a very one sided battle though as HH are almost totally non responsive.

A quick email to the Gold or Diamond email address will get any issue sorted very quickly. Noticed Hilton Sydney and KUL short changed me about 5000 points each stay. Was quickly resolved within about 12 hours and found the service terrific after I explained what should have been credited.

My main issues have been when I have split the bill into two payments or two bookings. Esp. two bookings - they only ever post one booking - I managed to recover 60K of points by going through my bookings.

I agree re HSW in particular, but HOP has also been an issue. This is more likely when extending a stay, more so if the first part of the stay was prepaid. They could not get nights or points right. I invested 30 minutes on the phone to HH and they resolved it ...even gave me some bonus points for my trouble!

Refresh my little brain please with the Diamond email address.

If you have two bookings back to back they will only ever post as one. Part of the T&C unfortunately.

My issue was:

Booking 1 - three nights at US$200 = $600 = 12,000 points
Booking 2 - one night at US$300 = $300 = 6,000 points

What should have posted was $18,000 points (9,000 base points, four nights and one stay). What actually posted was 12,000 points, 6,000 base points, three nights and one stay. There were some other complications too with incidentals crediting to different stays or not at all. I was more concerned about the base points at that time.

OK.

I understand now.

I pretty much find this with all Hilton stays. The exchange rate they use is not favourable, so converting from AUD or MYR or whatever is usually a _lot_ worse than the xe.com quoted figures. I ring them a lot about this and almost invariably it comes down to the exchange rate they choose for the day. Its so low though that it makes me question whats going on.

Outside of this common problem, I find I have to keep right on top of them for any points earning promotions that might be run - these tend to under earn or just disappear. I usually contact Syd hhonors about all this stuff and find them excellent and proactive.

how long does it take for the bonus points for QF FF to be creditted?

The 1000 points per stay if you choose hhonors + miles? If so, DJ points usually post within a week of check-out in my experience. I'd imagine QFF being about the same.

Whereas I have just sent my third email to Sydhhonors as they have not yet responded to my earlier two emails asking where my QF points were after a stay in September. Will try the diamond email address....

Wow, thats really disappointing. I usually get an answer inside of 24 hours - but if I feel I can't wait that long I ring them up. I'd probably ring them in this case to see why they are not answering emails ... :)
