The view from my "office"

People watch a concert or rehearsal. That is normal and expected behaviour. In no way is watching a concert or rehearsal like perving on kids!
Agree but some people may not want to take the risk of their actions being misconstrued.

I was quite shocked with the number of people videoing and photographing a children's concert when we were in NZ a couple of year's back - these were not their own kids but a school putting on a performance for a group of adults on a ship excursion. It is something I would never consider doing.

These walks I do alone. I am acutely aware of what many others think when they see an elderly man watching children so that is why there are no photos. For most of the time I watched I was standing next to a woman who was one of their teachers. She was delighted that I was observing the performances.
And as I said earlier, this was not about you at all. I think where problems can arise is where people are not aware of how things may be interpreted and assume that photos etc are all fine.

Did you find out what event/ceremony the rehearsal was for?

I didn’t think you were commenting about me. I have commented before that years ago both QF and VA would seat me with the unaccompanied kids or parents with very young children. I enjoyed being of help and found kids much easier to deal with than adults. Then some one complained about males sitting next to children in general and that was the end of me helping out.
As Mrsdrron would tell you I am irresistible to those under 8 or over 80. It’s just the ones in between that I have problems with.

My office for the morning is SYD.

Christmas chaos is in full swing, especially on the International side.

The terminal is a zoo and it’s no better airside.

SQ A380, JQ 787, LA 787 and 330 from one of the Chinese carriers all at freight gates using busses.

Meantime on the domestic side near the “pond”, an SQ 777 and ANA 787 also using busses.

And they just keep coming…

I didn’t see it on the bus ride across from international, but I’m assuming there’s a sleigh and reindeer out there too because this bloke is hanging around the QF domestic J lounge.

You’d think Santa would be CL. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Backtracking to last night’s office the JL F lounge in HND…

Though I’d been to this lounge previously, it was the first time I’d had enough time for a good look around (and to get my boots polished).

Probably nothing new to some of you but the have a “champagne nook” with seating for four.

I took the time to look around the library where they have some excellent memorabilia on display.

Instruments from a former Japan Air Systems A300.

And because I’m supposed to post the view…

Love the Ansett pouch. Regretting chucking most of my Ansett stuff when I lost a sh... load of points and potentially several EU returns in J.

A generous gift from a fellow AFFer almost a decade ago.

It meant something to his late mother and in her honour I aim to include it in at least one post on each major trip I take.

Speaking of ships and boats, Viking cruise “vessels” three abreast on the Danube in BUD.

I later saw them each sale past the Parliament building one by one (see earlier post) on their way north and then west to the Rhine and onto AMS.

They didn’t look particularly full - so no idea if they’re popular this time of year? You’d think so with the hoards doing the Christmas Market trail?

Or maybe they’d disgorged themselves - the city is certainly crawling with peeps! And the Christmas / New Year cruises are less popular? No idea.
