One of the things about Hilton is that you don't need to register before booking, just register before you check out. Actually, just registering before it posts normally works.

Never. Base points is always consistent. All promos then accumulate based on the base points, separately, before getting put on your account.
So a double points offer and double points rate on the same stay will give you base points x3

No. It's on base points.
$100 total folio.
1000 base points.
800 bonus gold.
If you booked a "double points" rate then another 1000
if hilton have a promo, say their current 2500 per stay, then add 2500 etc.
all promo points are on the "BASE POINTS".

No, it is per stay.

Stay three consecutive nights at the same property, get 2500 bonus.

Stay three nights at three different properties, get 7500 bonus.

It’s added to the total balance of points earned per stay.

If you go to past stays in the app and click on the i button you should be able to see the points breakdown.
