Looks like this webpage is only for the American Express® Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer Ascend Card, and not the general AMEX cards listed in the invitation.

It says that yes, but had a friend try it. It worked instantly. No verification of amex. I can't try as I'm gold.

Update: some progress. AMEX website suggested the delay was with HH.

My status had not updated despite 2 attempts at registering.Just used the link in post 20 with the krisflyer amex and account updated immediately.

I signed up via the amex link last month, was sent confirmation email a few days later. Not a previous HH member.

The surprise was that I now have gold status on the HH site, and it says until the end of the year.

BTW card is Explorer Business
