JQ is a QF brand though... you can't expect them to completely sell the name and let it be tarnished (lol) by someone who doesn't care about the broader image ;)

Well QF own less than half... by him making statements it kind of proves HK gov got the decision right. Owning an airline must suck with all the BS to deal with.

Even if they only held 1%, you'd expect they'd have some control over how the brand is used?

That said, why didn't they just buy into an existing local carrier and re-brand (isn't that what happened in Vietnam)?
