Im having a 16hr stopover in HKG, arriving from DBX and continuing to KUL the next day.

I was wondering if there is any airside hotel or do I have to enter China and go back the next day for my flight to get a room to stay in while I'm there?

I really wouldn't mind a good night's sleep as im travelling for 2 days.

I have used Google and got no decent answer to my question and the latest thread I'm finding on the topic is from 2012, so a few years old. I haven't been through HKG for 12 years myself so I have no clue how things have changed.

Unless things have changed recently, there is no airside hotel at HKG. The Regal hotel is next to the terminal but you have to clear immigration.

I have used the Novotel Kingsgate hotel which is close to HKG airport and has free regular shuttle bus service. I have found it to be better value than Regal. These two seem to be the popular airport hotels. But as already noted, there is no air-side option, so you need to go through immigration for a hotel stay.

In case its not obvious...there is far less to think about entering Hong Kong than entering China in general...you don't need to arrange anything in advance immigration wise.

Transiting or visitng HKG does not involve 'entering China'. No China visa is required. HKG is a free port.
