HKG lounge crawl 9 June 2024 (the annual Asian lounge crawl)

Looks like I may have waited to long too book... can anyone find me a QFF J award from HK on the 9th at a suitable time? Not too fussed on airline, or destination (although ideally Asia or Australia). There's CX PE to Sydney, but preference is J for that flight time.
There's also lots of options out with CI through Taipei if you're happy to take an indirect route. Doesn't work for me as it will break the RTW rules but it may give you more options

Ouch I'm struggling to find flights out that late besides the direct flight back to Aus. Is it because people fly in on the day or is it due to check-in timings?
Check in usually isn’t the issue, just a timing to spend 5-6 hours before the AU flights.

You *must* be on a OW flight to be part of the crawl.

Why not call QF and request a release of seats? If you book the rest of the OW award online, you could call QF and ask them to 1. release the seats and 2. attach it on to your OW award? There's I9 availability on both QF128 and QF30. Worse comes to worse, if they say no, you can cancel the OW award, or ask for a Y seat.

Yeaaaj but where's the fun in calling Qantas to release a seat when I could use it as an excuse to fly somewhere obscure for free (plus taxes) :p

TBF my plan is to get a cash flight from MNL-HKG-BKK and buy some Lifemiles for a TG flight home. What could go wrong...

I'm arriving Friday night late so can be up for Saturday activity.

Or may just fly a day trip somewhere....

For post # 2 - arriving 12:15am, 9 June on CI607 from Taipei, so have a day in HKG.

Thought I might stay at the Regal Airport Hotel, attached to the terminal. Any one have a bad word to say about this place?

I'll be arriving on Friday sometime, so there could be a crew for some group things. Can probably work it out closer to the date though

I will be staying there next Saturday en-route to SYD. I previously regularly used Regal iClub in Wanchai (pre Covid and CCP takeover) and it was always comfortable, clean and reasonable value.

Colour me Platinum!

I’ve just booked onto
Arriving into HKG on QF29 – 7 June 2024 @ 1800hrs

And departing on QF30 – 9 June 2024 @ 2000hrs

I’m unsure where I’ll be staying, haven’t been to HKG since the days of Kai Tak.

I am Accor-Platinum, any suggestions for Accor hotels close to wherever everyone will be staying, would be very much appreciated.

Bronze for me. Based in HKG, but the 10th is a public holiday here (Dragon Boat Festival), so had booked a trip a while back. But you never know, plans can change so will keep track.
