HKG lounge crawl 9 June 2024 (the annual Asian lounge crawl)

OW hub - Cathy.

Star Alliance transits mainly via SIN
Yet, SIN is probably close to 2nd* for OW lounge hopping after HKG? Alas, CX was relegated to the cheap seats in SIN but still plenty to choose from.

*thinking quality not just quantity.

Same crew on QF30 as I had arriving yesterday on QF29. They were great on the flight up from MEL, so hopefully that means we’re in good hands for the return trip.

Really enjoyable afternoon/evening meeting and greeting with those AFF’ers in attendance, especially as a first time Asia Lounge Crawl attendee. Lots of laughs along with plenty of good food + drink!

Will post some pics when we hit MEL as the flight is preparing to push back.

Cathay Pacific aside, why is HKG so good for OW and so lousy for *A lounges?

**shares a bitter lemon mocktail and a canape of sour grape**

Prescient commentary.

You can ask the same question in relation to Singapore - Qatar and Qantas F clean up, IMHO.

Had a lovely flight from HKG to SIN, now nearly time to board my next flight to AKL. SQ J lounge is as good as it ever was. Had a nice 3.5 hour ride where I finally finished a very long book. Service lovely as always as was the food, BTC chicken and abalone rice after a relatively healthy Nicoise salad.

Hope you all have a safe trip wherever it is. Enjoy Mongolia.

Currently ensconced in the QF SYD J lounge with @Ansett . Managed to get put on an earlier flight to HBA 😊

SYD immigration was the worst I’ve ever experienced. Queues at every ticket machine 15-odd deep, then same at the kiosks. I went through ticketless, which was new for me.
