Hi all, was just looking for a 4 night trip from Hong Kong.

- US$282 from Hong Kong - Shanghai (2n) - Seoul (2n) - Shanghai (transit) - Hong Kong from 15th April

- Flying China Eastern

- No Visa required for China as less than 72hrs in and out of same Shanghai airport

- Looking at .au website @ nearly $500 and .ie it is nearly 600 euros

- have 28D card, but will play by platinum card to ensure credit card insurance sticks with me over there!

Any catches here ? Thoughts ?

Edit: On expedia.com website

OT but thank you for bringing to my attention the new visa rule for the 72 hour visa free.

I often book US hotels through expedia.com as they can be hundreds of dollars cheaper.

To meet it seems you meet the visa requirements (not same departure and destination city) looks like a good price and a nice trip.

** I am no expert I am sure more educated people then me may be able to let you know if there are any issues with your plan **

Cheers, I have booked now anyways, went through fine, total cost was A$300 inc cc charges for the airfares ex HKG for the days I wanted. It goes well with the cheap flights ex HBA.

Any issues visa wise I will let you know, but I can't see an issue "rule" wise, there is an onward destination.

Although not sure if it was great timing now with a "state of war" being declared!!! Hopefully my DMZ tour isn't cancelled.

Cheers

Seems good value! Am booking soon ICN-HKG with 12 hours in PVG (on purpose) to have a day in Shanghai maximising on the new visa free rule. Im looking at around $260 in early July.. Almost better off doing a bit of re-routing and making it return! Im the same with the DMZ tour, i went to Seoul last year and loved it, but only did the tour to the border not to Pammujeoun (most likely spelt that wrong)... was hoping to do Pammujeoun but dont think its going to happen.
