[h=1]Airport setback holds up A380s[/h]
The world's biggest international airline has expressed concern that WA is missing out on tourism and business opportunities because infrastructure at Perth Airport is unable to meet demand.
Responding to news that a promised aerobridge complex to accommodate A380 super jumbos is running five months behind, Emirates president Tim Clark said "this is not good news for Perth Airport, Perth and WA and Emirates".

Where could a fully laden A380 get to from PER?

another FIFO route.

They could get them straight out of Bali for there 14 days on.

There would only be a few ports that could take the A380 so I guess it would be Dubai as that is Emirates base.

Dubai is the target I suppose. I can't see EK having any desires to fly from PER to anywhere else direct, and it's not as if QF even know where PER is, more chance of getting a DJ A380 in Perth than a QF bird. :)

Ok, a hypothetical then: If QF (don't laugh) flew an A380 from there where could be a possible target?

Edit: PER-LHR is about 9,000 miles so is that possible?

If QF were to start a PER A380 service I would imagine it would be to Dubai also.

PER-LHR in theory is possible. Viable route? Probably not.

So does anyone know what will happen if I book a flight from PER-DXB on 777 now for September next year and then the A380 comes on line in say March ? Will I get switched automatically ?

You book a flight number not an aircraft.
The seating layouts would change similar to what happens any other time the aircraft is switched from what was configured when it was loaded into the system.

I booked mine for July and August, but somehow I doubt they'll have A380 flying that route by then.

I'll be on a QF A380 onwards to LHR, though.

What's the new start date for the EK A380 service to PER, anyone know?
