Have an award booking HAN-SYD- BNE where HAN-SYD leg has been delayed.

The offered alternate has 5 minutes transit window with no other options avaiable.

Flight was due in at 18.50 to connect with last flight out at 2035. I now arrive at 2030.

Surely this is on Qantas to find an alternative as this is not a valid connection window?

You may need to call QF if no options to change online

Sorry,I can change it and accept the 5 minute transit, but that's never going to work.

expert flyer is still listing that days QF26 as a 7am departure. I thought it might have been a daylight saving related schedule change, but that doesn't appear to be the case.

The only realistic options would appear to be an overnight flight, either QF60 via SYD or QF62 NRT-BNE.

Surely SYD-BNE on a Thursday night is every half-hour around the 8:30pm mark? Given it’ll be their fault the connection wasn’t made, the chances of not being put onto a (say) 10pm flight aren’t super high?

I think I’d be enjoying that Hold music on hands-free for the 10hrs tomorrow though.

The last flight out on 22 February is QF554 at 22:05

1h35m isn't a comfortable transit but should be doable.

Personally I'd just leave it and sort it out at the airport. However, if you must be in Brisbane that night then you will probably have to call up and see if you can be put on an earlier flight out of Tokyo or QF62 direct to Brisbane.

I also have a future QF26 booking that was affected by this change.

I'm just leaving it for now. I don't have to be back in BNE that day. QF can sort it out...strange how no option to move to the 2205 flight was offered, even though there at U class booking available.

Probably have to overnight SYD by the looks of it then.

If this is a QF classic reward ticket, how about emailing your request to the rewards escalations team for resolution? That team is one of the highlights of QF customer services because they actually are effective.

It seems locked in...it's their issue for now. Can't make changes
im assuming that everyone on the flght will be in the same situation, and even for Qantas' abhorrent standards, "oh bad luck, you'll just have to buy another ticket" wont happen,

@turnip666

I would NOT worry about your connecting flight

Regardless of what happens to HND-SYD, the airline WILL transfer you to the next available flight to BNE. There are (as you know) lots of SYD-BNE flights. If the last flight has departed, they will put you up in a hotel till the next day
