When I was looking at getting my family to Hawaii next year using classic awards in J I soon realised I had no chance of getting a Qantas J seat. I decided that i would look into Starclass award instead. We are looking at travelling April 2016. I have been watching the awards as they are released for the past few weeks. I am wondering how Jetstar awards are released? There is availability Feb 29th but nothing beyond that and it has been the same for some time now. Is there a pattern I should be made aware of?

What's your QF Status? As a WP they have released seats to me every time to HNL
I'm think that's a cheap way for them to have me burn my points.

According to 4 different reservations staff it is Qantas policy NOT to free up Jetstar award availability for WPs? Is this correct?

Last time I went SYD/HNL/SYD on JQ J on a A330?, the people in front seat were fully relined so seat was in my face, so book bulkhead seats if you can, but others may know more if 787.

Only 21 J Seats on the new JQ B787, compared to 35+ seats on the old JQ A330.
So hence why Award seats in J are most likely rare as hens teeth these days on those JQ sectors .
