I have just decided to try Virgin for my work Sydney to London flights I do 2-3 times a year. I have previously always flown Qantas but about 6 months ago my Qantas Club membership expired and when I tried to renew it was told I would have to pay the joining fee again. This made me to the sums as although flights are for business I am self employed so ends up costing me directly.
The one main thing I will miss is the showers in the Qantas lounges in thye Singapore,Bangkok,Hong Kong stop overs.
Does anyone know of a good lounge that I can pay for in Hong Kong? Once that there would also be enough time to get to and use before reboarding for the next leg of my flight (i.e. only a refueling stopover)

Any advice would be appreciated. Don't think I can go back tio the old days of flying in the same clothes without a shower SYD to LON.

There are three paid-in lounges in HKG (although all three are operated by the same company) - The Travellers' Lounge (West Hall), The Travellers' Lounge (East Hall) and Plaza Shower and Relaxation Lounge. All three are located airside in the terminal and offer showers.

A 2 hours lounge 'package' costs HK$400 and a 5 hours package costs HK$580.

Thanks.
Does anyone know what gates Virgin Atlantic flights VS201 and VS200 commonly use on the SYD-LON stopover in Hong Kong? i.e. to work out best lounge to book.
Does anyone know if they get very busy with waits for showers? Want to make sure I have enough time.

The VS Clubhouse is opposite the Traveler's Lounge so I imagine the gates would'nt be too far. When I looked in recently it didn't seem particularly impressive but should get the job done.

The Plaza lounge is quite good, used it last year. Clean, good choice of food/drink, massage, smoking room, good clean showers, computers and chairs.
The terminal itself is pretty easy and clear to walk around and the majority of lounges are all on Level 1

There is also a paid Plaza Premium Lounge landside lounge near CX's "The Arrival" between T1 and T2 that I have used before.

I used the Plaza lounge last October. Actually spent about 9 hours there. Excellent, invigorating shower. Easily arranged and I expect they would priorities short stay visitors, especially if you advised them ahead of time. Would need to weigh up if a shower alone is worth $50.
